Public Health Communication Panel THURSDAY 4/18 (Sophie Nigrovic)

The Bowdoin Science Journal and Bowdoin Public Health Club are jointly hosting a speaker panel on scientific communication and public health this Thursday, 4/18, at 5:00 p.m in Druck 020!

Our panel discussion features three distinguished leaders in the public health sector:
Dr. Lisa Letourneau, Senior Advisor for Delivery System Reform to the Maine DHHS Commissioner
Sarah Gabrielson, Children’s Health Research Navigator at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital
Chlöe Dietrich, Public Health Educator for the Maine CDC

Through this discussion, we hope to explore how researchers and educators communicate health-related information—particularly as it concerns pertinent health issues in Maine—to the general public, discuss how health research informs policy change at the local and state level, and highlight the diversity of careers in the public health sector, from research to education and everything in between.

After the panel, we are inviting speakers and interested students for a meal to facilitate connections and more questions at the Pub. We have meal vouchers for 15 students – we hope that you join us for what is sure to be an illuminating conversation!
