History through board games: History Department Kemp Symposium, April 19-21 (Patrick Rael)

From Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21, the Department of History will offer its Annual Kemp Symposium. With the theme of ‘Ludic Histories’, this year’s symposium will explore the ways that modern board games represent the past.

Keynote address by Jason Perez, a cultural consultant and board game influencer: ‘The Crime and the Cover-Up: The Power of Narrative in Historical Board Games’. On Saturday, we’ll play games. On Sunday morning, we’ll talk about them. You can register by clicking on the link above, or you can just show up.

Update: The keynote talk, at 5pm on Friday, April 19, will now be held in Beam Classroom in the VAC. All other events will be held in Main Lounge, Moulton Union.
