CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FROM STUDENTS OF CINEMA STUDIES CLASSES (past and present) for the 2022-23 Cinema Studies Prizes (Laurie Holland)

2022-23 Cinema Studies Prizes 
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: THURSDAY, April 6 at 4:00 pm  

THE ROSEBUD PRIZE is awarded to a member of the first-year class for the best essay written for a cinema studies class.  

THE SUNRISE PRIZE is awarded to a member of the senior class for the best essay written for a current or past cinema studies class or independent study.   

THE ADVENTURER PRIZE, named for pioneering female director Alice Guy-Blaché’s lost 1917 film The Adventurer, is awarded to a student for the best work of multimedia criticism (video, audio, podcasts) for a cinema studies class or independent study. Open to all students of all classes.  

Prizes are competitive and are not limited to cinema studies minors. Submit your work to the Cinema Studies Program coordinator at lholland@bowdoin.edu by the deadline.  

One submission per category per student.  Each submission must include a cover page with your full name, class year, the title of your piece, and which Cinema Studies class the piece was written or produced for. Submissions are judged anonymously - include identifying information on the cover page only.
