Wednesday-Rapper Nissim Black (Kathryn Huether)

7:30 PM Kresge Auditorium
Nissim Black, a self-identified African American Hasidic Jew, is an artist who views himself as a bridge between both Jews and Blacks and uses his musical voice to fight antisemitism and racism.  An advocate of “Clean & Holy” lyrics coupled with an old-school vibe, he sees his music as adding to the marketplace of available type of speech within rap and blends his African American Heritage with his Orthodox Jewish Faith.  This event is open to the public, free of charge; there are no tickets or reservations.  For more information, please write lrussell@bowdoin.edu or call 207-798-4141.  Sponsored by Bowdoin's departments of Music, Religion, Dance, German, Bowdoin Hillel and Africana Studies
