Upperclass students will arrive to campus on Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6 (snow date set for February 7.)  Arrival Day will be very different, and we need volunteers to safely welcome students and their guest/parent to campus. Even though students are familiar with campus, they have not experienced campus with COVID-19 restrictions in place. Having a welcoming staff on hand will help students feel more at ease during these challenging times. Student arrival times will be spread out over the day and will be expanded to nearly all dorms.  

We will need approximately upwards of 78 volunteers per day:

Dorm Check-in Manager: Once the student is tested at Morrell Gym, they will arrive at their assigned dorm. The dorm manager will greet them, check them in, and allow the student to enter dorm. Parents/Guests cannot enter the students’ dorm, and only students can carry in their belongings. You will also need to ensure that students and guests are always wearing face masks.

Welcome Center (Deans and Student Affairs staff, preferable): At the Dayton Lot, this role will be greeting and checking in students.

Floaters: Various roles include watching luggage, directional assistance, crowd control, and being “on call” if other volunteers become ill and are unable to work their shift.

On each day, shifts will run approx. 8:00am-2:00pm and 2:00pm-8:00pm. (NOTE: If the day you are signed up for is cancelled due to snow, you would be expected to fulfill your role on the make-up date of Sunday, February 7.)  As a thank you for volunteering your time, we will be raffling off (8) $100 Hannaford gift cards per day!
